"It was so DIY. Punk Rock DIY," laughs Kelly.

"It still got played on the radio though," says Alexei sternly.

"Yes it still got played on the radio but it sounded like it was recorded in a dustbin," replies Kelly much to the amusement of Alexei.

So what fuels the band's music? Kelly suggests answering with bullet points much to everyone's amusement. Will they be indented and listed in order of relevance? We only get two before they are called for a sound check.

"Gin and the opposite sex," begins Kelly.

"When hot girls we don't know start dancing to our songs," adds Alexei.

"And hot guys. I'm not a lesbian," states Kelly.

"I'm not gay either," declares Alexei. "Glad we got that all out of the way," he adds laughing.

After the sound check we move into the band's car where Kelly once again is willing to offer a list for musical influences though Junior interrupts her enthusiasm. "It all depends on the kind of songs."

"We've come across a lot of bands that seem to listen to the same music as we do," announces Alexei. "It's more about what we don’t listen to."

"The Broken Social Scene," states Junior. "We have all the influences but I wouldn't say we sound like anyone."

"He didn't ask who we sound like. He asked for influences and we answered his question," says Kelly. >>
