"I know.
I also gave him the answer to one he might ask in the future."
Alexei for some reason mentions Natalie Imbruglia and all that
can be said is that the conversation descends into self trivial
involvements with pop artistes. Junior informs us that his mother
bought him the Natalie Imbruglia album and that Alexei once
found a Corrs album in his collection. "I didn't buy it.
It's one of those things that I just acquired," he says
smiling.
"It's true," states Alexei. "I've got loads of
shitty pop singles from girls that I have been out with. They've
just bought random singles and left them. I've got loads of
Hanson."
This causes Kelly to tell us that she's seen Hanson perform
live and tries to explain the female attraction to the band.
In an effort to restore balance I inform them that Mark &
Lard once did a cover of 'Hmm Bop' on radio, which leads us
to the fact that the band recently played on Mark Riley's radio
show.
"Out of all the media people we've met he has been the
most genuinely enthusiastic. You can tell that he does his job
because he loves finding new music."
"It was all very nice," begins Kelly. "We would
play a song and then go down to the bar. Then play another songs
and then go down to the bar. It was really relaxed."
"By the second song we were a bit drunk," laughs Alexei.
"The level of standard in our performance had gone down,"
admits Kelly. "It was funny listening back. I had a nervous
laugh all the way through."
"My mic didn’t work and I sounded like a mumbling
bastard," states Junior.
