Dice & K9

A necessary change perhaps as Hi-C explains. “We wanted to show people that we have other songs too. They only know ‘Itsumo’.”

A case perhaps of the Charlatans, when years ago they nicknamed their own song ‘The Only One They Know’.

“They know that they’ve heard other releases afterwards but they don’t know it’s us but the songs don’t sound like ‘Itsumo’. Though they think that we’ve only released that,” she continues.

Apparently the band works with the beat first and then adds the lyrics, which more than often enough come from one large book.

“There will be a verse on page 3 and another verse for that song on page 27,” laughs Trapp.

With K9 leaving, the change in lyricist is only one of the ways the band has sought to change the music.

“I didn’t want to be going back to the second album because there’s something to say. I like the first album better than the second because the second was cheesy,” declares Dice.

So how does their third album compare?

“I like ‘The Journey’ so much because there’ a lot of rapping in it and it’s totally different sound from the first track to the last,” states Dice.

If the band wanted to ensure that they were more than capable of moving on from the past and developing they could do no wrong than to set about producing another album. >>
