Naomi
Friday’s alternative nights at the Main Arena in Wolverton are fastly improving. Gut records latest signing Naomi stopped by so it made sense to ask her some questions and ask her to stand in the middle of the road so we could take some photos.
From an early age Naomi has been writing songs.

"I wrote my first song when I was eleven it’s called 'Womb'," admits Naomi. "I first played it to my grandparents and they were so shocked. They were like "Oh darling that’s lovely", but you could see them gritting their teeth."

Though now grown up, those PR peeps are muttering comparisons of her debut single 'Personal Touch' to Janis Joplin and Alanis Morisette, which cant be bad.

The young artiste recently signed to Gut and admits that whilst her new label mates, Space are genuinely good guys, chances of a supporting them would be a long way off.

"They are really great guys, good fun, great music but it’s probably not a good idea," she explains smiling.

With the album completed, PR workers primed, a new tour starting just as one has finished, work underway on the video for the next single 'Be My Lover'. The self-confessed slightly tired Naomi seems excited when discussing the prospect of more touring.

"We’ve just finished a little northern tour, which was like Glasgow, Leeds and York amongst other places which was great. Now we have this tour. The first single 'Personal Touch' has gone to America now. So we’re hoping to, fingers crossed, be running around the desert selling a few songs. I’m not too worried about success. I think it’s one of those things that is either going to happen or it’s not. It’s not my main goal. My goal is to travel basically and just enjoy it."

Naomi isn’t au fait to the idea of running around in open spaces.

"I met my producer Gavin Moynihan, through a person I lived with," she begins to explain. >>
